Rodney McCray grew up in Northwest Detroit Michigan where he attended Henry Ford high school. He later move to California where he went to University High School in Los Angeles. After college at West Los Angeles College Rodney was drafted in 1984 and signed with the San Diego Padres in the 9th round.
Teaching the mental and physical part of the game are crucial. When we focus on Hitting players must have the right approach and plate awareness, Fielding and having a proper balance of footwork angles to the ball and mentally knowing where to make the play with the ball in certain game situations. Students learn the importance of physical conditioning, stretching and having good core. “Move your feet, catch the ball & throw the ball.”
